Oilheat's Ultimate "Train- the- Trainer" Experience

This intensive two-and-a-half day workshop designed to enhance the teaching skills of Oilheating Industry trainers. The primary focus will be on introducing attendees to the set of adult teaching techniques necessary to successfully teach the NORA "Oilheat Technicianʼs Manual." NORA is completing the first major revision to this manual which has served as the main training guide in the Oilheating industry for nearly 50 years. The redesigned book will be the foundation for the basic Oilheat Technicianʼs class and will include chapters on pumps, controls, fuel quality, customer service, motors, draft and venting, oil burners, tanks and piping, electricity, tune-ups, nozzles and combustion. East registrant will be provided with the new manual in prior to the session starting. The workshop itself will focus on training adult learners and will include presentations on how adults learn, how to prepare for class, developing audio visual materials and class evaluation. These are all of the basic skills that have been determined necessary to effectively teach technicians and other employees of an Oilheating company. A review of the new manual and how it integrates into NORAʼs technical education will also be included. The workshop will feature hands-on exercises, ensuring that participants learn the required techniques and how to apply them to their own situations. Participants will receive constructive feedback from workshop instructors/coaches and benefit by having peers share their own teaching techniques.
